Is My Pool Leaking?
Signs that your pool has a leak may include: conspicuous water loss, high water bills, wet ground near the pool, pump or filter issues.
Verifying the Presence of a Leak:
1. Turn off your pool filter and your autofill if you have one.
2. Place an empty bucket on the steps of your pool and fill it until the water level inside of the bucket is the same as the pool.
3. Wait 24 hours and compare the water levels.
4. If the water level outside of the bucket is less than that inside the bucket, your pool likely has a leak!
5. If the results of your test indicate that a leak is present, call your local pool repair specialists immediately to prevent further damage and save yourself money!
***This test is the most effective when the pool being tested has stairs that are exposed to sunlight for the majority of the day (not under a porch or roof extension), and also when the bucket being used is a light color (darker colors absorb more heat and cause the water inside of the bucket to evaporate more quickly).***
